CO Specs wins Best Debut Drink Book at Fortnum & Mason Food and Drink Awards.
CO Specs, by London author and cocktail industry veteran Cas Oh, has taken out the Debut Drink Book category of this year’s prestigious Fortnum & Mason Food and Drink Awards.
Oh was awarded Fortnum & Mason’s golden seal at a reception at the Royal Exchange in London last night, Thursday 9th September 2021 in front of an audience of industry heavyweights and fellow nominees. The highly regarded panel of judges included Panel Chair Angela Hartnett of Murano, TV personality Miguel Barclay, food writer Rosie Birkett, and The Cocktail Lovers Magazine editor Sandrae Lawrence.
Bound in gold hard back, CO Specs presents a comprehensive A-Z guide to the world’s most popular classic cocktails. Pairing two decades heading bars in London’s top establishments with years of rigorous research, Oh has hunted down original manuscripts and fables, collating them into one elegant book that Oh says is, “informed by history, balanced for now.”

The Fortnum & Mason Award is the latest in a slew of awards collected by Oh this year since independently publishing CO Specs in October of 2020. So far CO Specs has received a coveted Kirkus Star, a gold medal at the IPPY Awards (International Independent Publishers Awards) and two silver medals at the INDIES Book of the Year Awards to name just several.
